Description
Carnotaurus sastrei, the “meat-eating bull,” stalking through the Late Cretaceous badlands of Patagonia. This apex predator was built for speed, with those distinctive brow horns and tiny arms making it one of the most recognizable theropods. This piece captures a moment of quiet tension, head slightly turned, ready to strike.
The Artwork: a Heavy Handed original.
I went bold with this one. Deep violet and magenta tones dominate the hide, a departure from the typical earth tones you see on theropod reconstructions. The coloring draws inspiration from modern cassowaries and other large, dangerous birds that use striking colors for display and intimidation.
