Mulgoth the Cleaver
A Darkoath cleaver from Age of Sigmar, and an excuse to lean all the way into dual-source OSL — warm orange from the corrupted swirl on his chest, cool blue off the axe.
A week before I started this, I saw the Darkoath set in store and Mulgoth, the Cleaver stood out as such a cool model that I knew I wanted to do something with him. I’d also been wanting to try my hand at more OSL, so I figured why not lean all the way in.
I learned a ton from this one. The dual light source was new for me: warm orange coming off the corrupted swirl on his chest, cool blue from the axe, with the figure sitting in shadow between the two. Getting both colors to read without muddying the middle was the whole puzzle.
Had a bunch of fun doing it. Hope you enjoy him too.
